Tom Brady is a 7-time Super Bowl Champion and is considered the greatest quarterback of all time. The future Hall of Famer holds numerous NFL records and has a long list of accolades, making him a popular player among football card collectors. Here are the best Tom Brady rookie cards to add to your collection.
The Classic Tom Brady Rookie Cards
Brady has more than 40 official rookie cards, but a few stand out as his most widely recognized.
2000 Bowman Chrome Tom Brady #236
This card is one of Brady’s most popular rookie cards. The base card isn’t numbered, but it’s still one of the most valuable Tom Brady rookie cards. It’s unlikely you’ll find an ungraded copy for less than $2,000, but a PSA 8 has similar value. In perfect condition, you’ll have to shell out five figures. If you love this card but want a more affordable option, check out the paper Bowman version.
2000 SP Authentic Tom Brady #118 /1250
SP Authentic was a popular Upper Deck release around the turn of the century, and this Tom Brady rookie card is no different. The print run was limited to 1,250 copies. Ungraded copies are tough to find, and graded copies can get expensive. A PSA 9 recently sold for $16,200. The last public sale for a PSA 10 was $60,000 in June 2025.
2000 Upper Deck Tom Brady #254
This card comes from Upper Deck’s flagship release, highlighting Brady as a Star Rookie. He’s in a red Patriots jersey and sweatpants, taking away some aesthetic appeal. Ungraded copies sell for $350 or more, with highly graded copies worth significantly more. As of January 2026, only 33 copies have received a PSA 10. The last recorded sale was $6,500.
The Most Affordable Rookie Cards of Tom Brady
There aren’t many affordable Tom Brady rookie cards in the traditional sense, but there are some that are more affordable than the rest.
2000 Skybox Impact Tom Brady #27
This card features Brady in his college blue and yellow Michigan colors, but it also includes the Patriots logo in the bottom corner. This is one of Brady’s more affordable rookie cards. Ungraded copies cost about $100.
2000 Pacific Aurora Tom Brady #84
This card features a busy design with a large, close-up photo of Brady in a hat, and a smaller photo of him on the field in the background. It’s not the best-looking Brady rookie card, but it’s one of the most affordable options. You can usually find ungraded copies for about $75.
2000 Ultra Tom Brady #234
This card has a nice shine, and Brady’s is a short print. Still, it carries a reasonable price for a Brady rookie. Ungraded copies run about $125.
Tom Brady’s High-End Rookie Cards
Here are the very best Tom Brady rookie cards, including the rookie autograph that every collector wishes they could add to their collection.
2000 Playoff Contenders Rookie Autograph Tom Brady #144
This card is the best of all of Tom Brady rookie cards. The Contenders brand has popular appeal, and it’s the only autograph Beckett considers a true rookie card. Authentic copies sell for $15,000 or more, and high grades can reach six or seven figures. A PSA 10 Auto 10 version sold for $2,880,000 at PWCC in 2021.
2000 Leaf Limited Tom Brady #378 /350
This card was limited to just 350 copies, driving up the price. Brady is also photographed in a Patriots uniform with the team logo, distinguishing it from other cards where Brady is in a college uniform. Only 16 copies have earned a PSA 10, the last one selling for $40,000 in August 2025.
2000 SPx Tom Brady #130 /1350
Limited to 1,350 copies, this is another popular Brady rookie card that commands a high price. A PSA 10 recently sold for $11,300. There are also a few autographed versions with special inscriptions from the TB12 Collection.
